I wasn’t originally going to blog about this new show, as I was hesitant to give my opinion. But so many people have asked me about it I figured it was worth a blog entry.
Long story short: I was incredibly surprised at how staged the show events were. And I could barely get through 15 minutes of Sophie’s incredibly dramatic script. (How did she ever survive in the financial industry?)
If you want to view more reviews, just google “DC Cupcake show reviews” or check out this article. Apparently I wasn’t the only one who didn’t care for the show!
*** I have an edition of “The Competition” coming soon… I was lucky enough to visit Georgetown Cupcake in Bethesda! Let’s just say their cupcakes are much better than the show : )

Phew. I’m glad I’m not the only one!
I was only able to sit through about 5 minutes of an episode before changing the channel. Just couldn’t do it.
Man… I keep watching hoping that I can find benefit in the time I am giving to watching this show. I am a life long home baker making difficult and not so difficult breads, pastries, and cakes. I am presently studying structured cake decorating. I want a cake business. When they were pumping up the show prior to its debut I thought this is perfect timing. Oh my goodness… how in the world can this show help anyone in the business or those who want to be in the business. It is like an infomercial to “order their cupcakes”. On other cake shows I am most interested when they share a tip, a secret addition to a recipe that makes it great!, a tip or trick on specific techniques. This show is the worst cake show on TV. I do not get the point and I cannot believe that this is on TV. Teach me something, give me something for my time. Please!
I agree completely Diana! That’s funny because I keep watching too – it’s like a bad movie you can’t stop watching!
